These clubs' basic assignment is to maintain the purity of the breed by conducting educational programs, which involve lots of dog fanciers from around the globe and by eliminating faulty species from the population of pure Chihuahuas. Non-profit rescue clubs are committed dog saviors, who help abandoned dogs and do their best to find good and caring owners. Chihuahuas, that are found by rescue clubs may have deviations from the AKC standard and are not intended for breeding.
Health problems are a matter of great concern for all sorts of breeder and rescue clubs. They cooperate with veterinarian services and conduct research on health care and vaccination. All clubs keep their members well informed about rules of caring and training.
